President Iohannis will be received at the White House by his American counterpart

President Klaus Iohannis will be received on Tuesday in Washington by his American counterpart Donald Trump for a working visit which he takes in the United States of America.
According to the agenda of the head of state at the local time 14:00 he will welcomed at the White House by the US President.

After Klaus Iohannis signs the Book of Honours there are included tete-a-tete discussions of the two presidents, followed by discussions with the participation of the members of the official delegations.

Last week president Iohannis presented in an informal meeting with the journalists the discussion issues with  his American counterpart among which energy security and the Visa Waiver programme.

The visit to Washington of president Iohannis made at the invitation of the American counterpart takes place on 19th and 20th August.

On 6th August the two presidential administrations  announced the meeting of presidents Donald Trump and Klaus Iohannis.

The American presidential administration showed that the two leaders will discucss about the best approach for the security challenges both  the US and Romania are facing and about the ways to promote energy and bilateral and fair commercial partnerships.

The visit comes in the context when Romania celebrates 30 years since the fall of communism and 15 years of accession to the NATO, the White House says.

President Trump is looking forward to celebrating these important events with president Iohannis, the American presidential administration said.

It is the second time, when during their mandates president Trump and president Iohannis have a meeting at the White House after the meeting of June 2017.
