Romanian currency depreciates in report with euro, but remains at best level over past 10 months
The national currency remains for the second day in a row at its best rate in report with the euro, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) having announced a 4.3981 lei exchange rate on Wednesday, increasing by 0.23 bani (+0.05 per cent) from the value in the previous session, namely 4.3958 lei for one euro.
According to BNR, the leu lost ground to the US dollar, too, so the reference exchange rate on Wednesday was 3.2300 lei/dollar, 0.94 bani more (+0.29 per cent), compared with the rate announced on the previous day, of 3.2206 lei for one dollar.
The gram of gold continued to decline in price on Wednesday, by 1.57 lei (-1.18 per cent), to the value of 131.3383 lei, compared with the level of 132.9161 lei, established on Tuesday.
