At the beginning of this month, the minister met the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Romania, Oleg Malginov, meeting which was attended by the representative of Transgaz.

The ambassador of Russia to Bucharest did not confirm the fact that there will not be reductions to the deliveries of Russian gas to Romania announced the department for energy at the respective moment.

The department for energy supported in several occasions that the population will be affected in no way by these reductions, even if the Russians stop the deliveries until spring.

The national production is 31 million cubic metres per day, as the consumption is almost 16 million cubic metres per day. Moreover, in the storage houses there are over 2.4 billion cubic metres against 1.7 billion cubic metres, as it was necessary to store for this year.

Imports of Russian gas equals the present consumption of a city such as Botosani or the consumption of CET Timisoara so that the reduction of the deliveries of the Russian Federation has a insignificant impact, Razvan Nicolescu , the minister delegated for energy said.

The imports of gas in Russia are at present almost 0.14 million cubic metres per day.Concretely, this is the present total consumption of a city such as Botosani or the present consumption of CET Timisoara. We speak about a small impact of the reduction of imports of Russian gas’ the minister said.
