Stock Exchange Bucuresti facilitated financing of over half a billion euro in the first eight months of this year

The total value of the financial instruments on sectors of shares and income listed with BVB in the first eight months of this year got to approximately 533 million euro equivalent, announced the Stock Exchange on Monday.

‘The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), fundamental institution of the capital market of Romania, facilitated successfully financing of over half a billion euro in just eight months of this year. The total value of financial instruments on sectors of shares and income listed with BVB reached approximately 533 million euro equivalent, since the beginning of the year up to the end of August’ BVB announced.

As a total, eight issuers,among whom the Romanian state represented by the ministry of public finances got financed through financial instruments emissions listed on the Romanian stock exchange between January – August 2020.

‘It is a very strong signal, even during this period of pandemics that accessing multiple sources of finances, which include the capital market, is part of a healthy mix for every economic activity. Both private companies, and the Romanian state used successfull BVB to draw capital so vital for the economy. The investment universe extends quickly for the investors present on  BVB and grew by over one billion euro only by taking into considation the listings of shares and bonds in the first eight months. The stock exchange is continuously growing and we have encouraging signals from the authorised brokers that several issuers get ready to access the capital market’ stated Radu Hanga, the chairman of the BVB.

In his turn, Adrian Tanase CEO BVB states that he wants to offer the investors the possibiity to access the capital market depending on their risk profile.

‘The success of the Romanian stock exchange is represented by the mix given by the presence of big issuers,with private shareholders or state ones, as well as by the SMEs sector, and the appetite of Romanian investors who access the available instrruments more and more frequently in search for superior placements for their savings. The stock exchange must be a representation of the economy, representation where shares and bonds represent the basic financial instruments.We want to offer the investors,existing ones and potential ones, the possibility to access the capital  market depending on their risk profile so that they can put to practice the different investments strategies’ said Adrian Tanase CEO of BVB.
