Study: Success of organizations in Romania largely depends on leaders' adaptation to labour market changes

The success of organizations in Romania largely depends on the adaptation of leaders to the ever-changing labour market (81%), with more than half of the organizations (57%) saying that they are not prepared in this sense, according to the results of Deloitte 2024 Global Human Capital Trends for Romania, published on Tuesday.

The main barriers that hold back the initiatives related to the preparation of leaders for the changes in the labour market are related to the difficulty of prioritizing this topic, due to the multiple other changes and priorities of the organization (37%), to the insufficient understanding of the problem, and of the risks and opportunities involved (36%), or other internal constraints (32%).

The success of organizations in Romania also depends on the search for better ways to assess the performance and value of employees, beyond traditional productivity (77%), the study also shows, but companies face obstacles such as internal constraints (41%), insufficient understanding of the problem, and of the risks and opportunities involved (37%) and the lack of involvement of leaders (32%).

Another important aspect for the success of organizations identified by the study is the rethinking of the way of working, the workplace and the workforce, simultaneously with the technological developments (67%). However, progress in this direction is hampered by similar challenges - insufficient understanding of the problem and associated risks and opportunities (40%), lack of leadership involvement (36%) and internal constraints (31%).

At the same time, the participants in the study believe that, for the success of a company, it is very important that the imagination and curiosity of employees keep pace with the technological innovations (68%). However, only 38% of the participants say that their employers are in advanced stages of addressing this aspect, with the main barrier being the insufficient understanding of the problem and the associated risks and opportunities.

In the medium term (the next three years), the factors that will most influence the success of organizations in Romania are trust and transparency in the relationship between employees and the organization (26%), rethinking the way of working, the workplace and the workforce, by considering the technological developments (14%) and the impact that the interaction with the organization has on each person (13%), the research also reveals.

The Deloitte 2024 Global Human Capital Trends report for Romania was conducted among over 450 business and human resources leaders from various industries, including financial services, consumer products and energy and resources, from organizations of various sizes, including large companies large, with up to 10,000 employees.
