Survey: 75% of Europeans have travel plans in 2020; in Romania the share is 87%

Three quarters of Europeans (75%) are planning to travel in 2020, mainly within their country, while six out of ten (60%) of them think their holiday budget will be the same as before the pandemic just a bit smaller, results of a survey made by LuggageHero and All4Travel. On the same topic answers in Romania exceed European average, the share of those who want to travel inside the country being 87%.

According to the source, 75% of respondents declare they want to explore the country they live in, over May-September, crossing longer distances by car or planning escapades to the towns they prefer. Answers from Romania exceed the European average, the percentage of those who want to travel within the country this year reaching 87%. 

At the same time, more than half of Europeans say they will travel during summer months, while 20% are so eager for walks that they will leave in the first 15 days after restrictions are lifted. At the opposite pole, 3% mentioned they do not want to leave the city they live in before they have access to a vaccine, while a similar group of persons will expect economic recovery.

As for business travels, 60% of persons interviewed said they will have at least a business trip until the end of the year, while in Romania the share is only 10%.

The survey was made over May 10-14 on online forms, with a balance of age, gender and geographic representation, on a sample pf 1,600 people all over the world.
