Swiss ambassador: Lack of law stability in Romania, first big problem

Jean-Hubert Lebet, the Swiss ambassador to Bucharest says that Romania is a country with big potential, but its first big problem is the lack of stability and predictability of law and that a much better image is needed to attract investors.

 

“Romania has a huge potential but the question is what could Romanian authorities do to attract investors. The first big problem in Romania is the lack of stability and predictability of law. The next problem is the continuity and long term planning for infrastructure, energy, transport infrastructure. It is very interesting to go in Romania on side roads but transport should be made on highways. Another stage is that authorities should work on a much better image for Romania, “said the Swiss ambassador in Targu Mures on Thursday, quoted by Mediafax.

 

In his turn, Marc Bruchez, economic attaché and councillor of the Swiss ambassador in Romania showed there are Swiss companies which study the market and ask for statistics concerning Romania’s economic situation, poitning out they act in fields concerning energy and production. At the same time, Markus Wirth, president of the Romanian-Swiss Chamber of Trade which has 65 members said that in Romania you can find a very good human resource.

 

The even organized in Targu Mures by the Swiss Embassy and the Switzerland-Romania Chamber of Trade for the promotion of Swiss investments in the area was attended by representatives of Azomures chemical fertilizer plant, of Sefar Sighisoara company, specialised in the production of yarn and Sandoz, which acts in the field of medicine manufacture.
