The tribunal Bucuresti decided on Saturday the custody for 30 days of the former manager of Hospital ‘ Malaxa’ Florin Secureanu accused by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) of bribery and dilapidation, both under continuous form.

The decision is not final, but enforceable, so that Secureanu will be taken in the arrest of the Bucharest Police.

According to DNA Florin Secureanu conceived and applied a scheme through which, for over seven years stole almost every day sums of money from the cashiers in the hospital he was leading.

The investigators show that bills for a numberof 1,075 days, which would mean that the manager got for himself in 1,075 days sums of money from the hospital. The total sum thus dilapidated was evaluated as 1,944,594 lei which represents the prejudice caused to the medical unit.

‘To justify in the financial documents of the public institution the sums of money thus dilapidated, the suspect Secureanu Adrian Florin asked the personnel from the services under this order ( the financial service – accountant, acquisition service, administrative service) to have fake documents. For this, the manager used two commercial companies with inadequate fiscal behaviour which were fake IT spare parts suppliers and repair and maintenance computers services for the hospital’ the DNA says.

From the investigations it was clear that the two companies did not have contracts with the Hospital ‘Malaxa’ did not have any service and did not deliver any goods to the public institution.

The prosecutors consider that between 20 May 2011- November 2016 Florin Secureanu asked a commercial company which had contracts of direct acquisition with the hospital, to pay a series of journeys which himself and his acquaintances used to make abroad and in the country. Thus, the respective company paid to a travel agency over 800,000 lei for a numberof 470 journeys of the suspect and his acquaintances.

‘The tourism services which the manager of the hospital and his friends use, paid by the company with which he had contracts with the hospital, were in fact plane tickets, accommodation, car rentals, breakfast, etc. The destinations were varied, both in Europe, America,Asia and Romania’ the DNA says.
