The law regarding the Agreement between the government and the ministers cabinet of Ukraine referring to cooperation in the technical –military domain was promulgated
President Klaus Iohannis promulgated on Friday the law for the ratification of the agreement between the Romanian government and the ministers’ cabinet of Ukraine regarding cooperation in the technical –military domain, document signed on 5th September 2020 in Bucarest, shows the Presidential Administration.
The provisions of this agreement aim at the following » : the acquisition of armament and military technique within the joint programmes and the production of armamanet and military technique, reparation and modernisation of the armament , as well as the sale of licences for production of armament and military technique, ensuring technical support in their production ;the set up of a Mixed Romanian-Ukraine Commissionfor technical-military Cooperation with the purpose of applying the provisions of the agreement; the protection of classified information; the safety of rights and obligations of the parties coming from other international agreements’ .
The agreement does not include provisions contrary to Romanian legislation or duties and commitments through other international documents and was singed for a period of five years with the possibility to renew it for successive periods of five years, if one of the parties denounces it with a maximum six months before the validity period expires.
The agreement strengthens Romania’s profile as a state promoter of regional stability in the context of the security situation in the region.The agreement is included in the objective of the country for defence and developement of the relations for cooperation in bilateral and Atlantic integration of Ukraine through development of functional partnership’ according to the document promulgated by the head of state.
