The Szentkereszty castle of Arcus, included in the SoNoRo Mansion tour

The Szentkereszty castle of Arcus, built in the second half of 19th century will host this week a concert of classical music part of the project SoNoRo Mansion ‘ A la francaise’. According to the organizers, in the concert, programmed for 9 May 6 p.m. the public will listen to works of French composers Gabriel Fauré, Marin Marais, Jules Massenet,as well as works by George Enescu, Zoltan Kodaly and Reinhold Glicre interpreted by Anna-Lisa Bezrodny – violin, Razvan Popovici – viola, Jan Erik Gustaffson – cello and Miruna Nagy – harp.

Built in the second half of 19th century, the Szentkereszty castle combines the elements of neoRenaissance and neoBaroque styles. From 1990 to 2015 when the building was given back to its owners, the castle hosted the Culture Centre Arcus under the supervision of the ministry of culture.

The SoNoRo Conac tour of May is included in the Romania-France 2019 season and will continue on 10 May at the Haller castle of Ogra, Mures county, 11 May – the Apafi castle of Dumbraveni, Sibiu county, 12 May – Peles castle, Prahova county and 30 May the Royal Palace in Bucharest.

Access to the SoNoRo Conac concerts is free of charge and is made on the basis of invitations or reservations in the limit of the available seats.

SoNoRo Conac is a project initiated by the Sonoro Association in 2013 with the purpose of organizing favourable contexts for the safeguard of important monuments in the Romanian heritage.
