The trade between Romania and Ukraine totalled 1,439 dollars in 2014

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Tourism Mihai Tudose discussed on Thursday with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Romania Teofil Bauer the ways of boosting the bilateral trade and investments, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism (MECT) informed in a release. 

The two officials "set up a series of joint action to develop the collaboration on all the economic levels and the advance of commercial exchanges; an important role was attributed to the talks within the second session of the Romania-Ukraine Joint Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Industrial, Technical and Scientific Cooperation in Bucharest, in 2015. 

On December 31 2014, the trade between Romania and Ukraine totalled 1,439 dollars, comprising of 826,4 million dollars exports and 612,78 million dollars imports, resulting in a balance surplus of 213,62 million dollars for Romania. The volume of this trade was 24.0 smaller than in 2013 (minus 35.7 percent for exports and plus 0.7 percent for imports). Ukraine is Romania's 5th export market outside the European Union, with 4.07 percent of the total exports. Conversely, 3.07 percent of Romania's non-EU imports came from Ukraine, placing this country 8th among the non-EU trade partners.
