Venice Commission delegation to arrive în Bucharest on Thursday

 President Klaus Iohannis will welcome a delegation of the Venice Commission to the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Thursday. The Venice Commission delegation will be paying a visit to Romania on Thursday and Friday as part of the preparation of an opinion on the recent modifications to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code adopted by the Romanian Parliament, according to the website of this consultative body of the Council of Europe.

The delegation members will have talks with President Klaus Iohannis, Justice Minister Tudorel Toader, as well as with representatives of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the General Prosecutor's Office, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) and the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM).

The delegation will also discuss with parliament members, including members of the special committee for the modification of the justice laws, associations of judges and prosecutors, as well as civil society organisations.
