Visa issues and export of mineral water, discussed by Minister Grapini in India

Minister delegate for SMEs, Business Environment and Tourism Maria Grapini met, on Thursday, with India's Secretary for Tourism Parvez Dewan, one of the issues discussed being that of visas, the ministry informs in a press release.

'Minister delegate for SMEs, Business and Tourism Maria Grapini had, on Thursday, during the working visit to India, meetings with Mr. Madhav Lal, Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The two officials came up with proposals of encouraging entrepreneurs in the two countries, of cooperation and exchange of information on the projects supportive to SMEs ', the press release says.

The two ministers agreed to establish a concrete program for the Joint Working Group for SMEs within the Joint Committee.

On Thursday, as well, Minister Maria Grapini met with Secretary for Tourism Parvez Dewan. They talked about the establishment of a memorandum between the two ministries, related to the development of tourist exchanges between the two countries and agreed to send a draft Memorandum for the analysis and confirmation by the Romanian side.

'The main raised question was that of visas, given that each year 50 million Indian tourists visit Europe and many of them could choose Romania as a destination', the press release points out.

At the same time, Secretary for Tourism Parvez Dewan proposed encouraging producers to export mineral water to India, stating that tourists in India prefer imported mineral water.

Also on Thursday, the Minister delegate for SMEs participated, alongside Romanian Ambassador Valerica Epure, in the Romanian-Indian Business Forum, organized on the occasion of the official visit of Minister Maria Grapini. During the Forum, Maria Grapini presented opportunities offered by Romania to investors and those related to commercial exchanges.
