Infrastructure: Sea goods transport on the drop by 9.6% in first 9 months of 2020

The sea transport of goods recorded, in the first 9 months of 2020, a 9.6% drop, compared to the same period of 2019, loaded and unloaded goods in ports where sea going ships operate totaling 35,195 million tons, according to data centralized by the National Statistics Institute.In the case of unloaded goods, the drop was only 13.15, while for loaded goods it was 6%.


Ports with the most intense activity, over January 1- September 30,2020, were: Constanta, with a share of 85.1% and Media with 8.4%.Over the analysed period, the most important quantities of .oaded and unloaded goods came from and to Russia (8.060 million tons) and Turkey (5.727 million tons). Of EU member states, Greece (1.368 million tons) and Spain (1.311 million tons), recorded the highest quantities of transported goods.


The most important quantities of loaded goods were farm produce, products from hunting and silviculture, fish – 65%. Unloaded goods with highest share were coal and lignite, crude and natural gas (34.7%).
