Real Estate: House sales, up by 16 pct in Romania, in first half of 2024
The number of homes sold nationwide increased by 16%, in the first semester of this year, compared to the same period in 2023, while in Bucharest it increased by 25%, reveals a report, published on Monday.
According to the SVN Romania analysis, the strongest evolution among the most important regional residential markets in Romania was recorded by Iasi, with an annual increase in housing sales of 71%, and the weakest evolution was recorded in Arges, with a annual decrease of 11.5%.
Furthermore, the city of Iasi became, for the first time, the most important regional residential market in Romania, after Bucharest - Ilfov, in terms of the number of homes traded, in the first six months of 2024, surpassing Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca and Brasov.
The increase in sales in Iasi was determined by the registration, in 2024, of the final sale-purchase documents for the previously concluded agreements, state the real estate consultants.
Nationwide, from January to the end of June, this year, more than 77,200 houses and apartments were sold, an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2023, while the number of houses sold in Bucharest and Ilfov increased with an annual rate of 25.4%.
SVN Romania is one of the largest real estate consulting companies active in Romania, which, in its five years of activity, has traded more than 10,000 homes, with a cumulative value exceeding 800 million euros.
