Three main corridors overlapping Trans-European Transport Network to road link with Moldova province

The road link with Moldova province is an absolute priority, comprising three main corridors overlapped with the Trans-European Transport Network, and the contractual value of these projects amounts to 7.32 billion euros, VAT excluded, reads a release from the Ministry of Transport.

"The Ministry of Transport, as an Intermediate Body for Transport, has the responsibility to prepare and manage the project portfolio for European funding in the period 2014 to 2020 and after 2020 in accordance with the General Transport Master Plan.

According to the relevant ministry's data, the list of the three transport corridors includes: Corridor Moldova - Transylvania - Central Europe, which includes the Mountainous Highway with the Targu Neamt - Iasi - Ungheni section and the Targu Mures - Targu Neamt section (the estimated total value of the 318 km-long corridor, VAT excluded is 4.13 billion euros, the Brasov - Oituz - Bacau corridor (length of 160 km and estimated value of 1.84 billion euros, VAT excluded) and the Bucharest - Ploiesti - Buzau - Focsani - Bacau - Roman - Pascani corridor (327 km long and an estimated value of 1.35 billion euros, VAT excluded).

The Ministry of Transport, through the Intermediate Body for Transport, states that it will take all necessary steps in order to obtain the necessary financing for implementing all the road connectivity objectives of Moldova in the current programming period and post 2020.
