Agency: Early next year we'll know how many oil sites to be offered for concession
The National Agency for Mineral Resources will grant concessions to new oil sites next year, but it is only early in the year that it will precisely know their number and location, Agency advisor Irina Zamfir said on Wednesday.
When asked when is the Agency to put to auction the next 36 sites, as the institution has recently announced, Zamfir answered: 'At this moment we are drawing up the paperwork for the 11th round of concessions. The precise list containing the number and identification data of the sites will be published in the Romanian Official Journal and then in the European Union's Official Journal in early 2014 and then we will be able to talk about this round more concretely.'
The last concession round, the 10th, was organized by the Agency over 2009-2010, when it put 30 sites to tender, five of them in the Black Sea. Among the winners of that round there are Chevron, Lukoil, MOL, Melrose Resources, Petromar Resources, Moesia Oil & Gas and Petro Ventures.
