Damage of 11 million lei at E.ON Romania due to the theft of natural gas and electricity
The theft of natural gas and electricity caused the companies E.ON Romania damage of almost 11 million lei in Q1 of 2014, being identified over 2,200 cases of fradulous consumption of gas or electricity.
‘The theft of natural gas and electricity caused the companies E.ON a damage of almost 11 million lei in Q1. In the first six months, in the area of coverage ofE.ON were identified over 800 cases of potential fraudulous consumption of natural gas, namely 1,400 cases of potential consumption of fraudulous electricity. The total value of damage brought to E.ON of distribution of natural gas and electricity is estimated at almost 10,7 million lei, representing the countervalue of over 21 million kWh. The trend is increasing, as at the level of the whole year of 2013 were recorded almost 3,700 cases of potential fraudulous consumption’ a press release sent on Monday by E.ON Romania and quoted by the correspondent Mediafax.
The German group E.ON is present in Romania on the market of supply of natural gas and electricity for almost 3 million users in 20 counties in the northern part of the country. The platform company E.ON Romania owns a package of 53.38 percent of the shares E.ON Energie Romania, 51% of the shares E.ON Gas distributie and 68% of the shares E.ON Moldova Distributie.
