Romanian bank ranks third in FinnoScore international ranking in terms of digitisation

The FinnoScore banking report ranked a Romanian bank, BCR, third in the international ranking of the most competitive banks in terms of digitisation, with 6.81 points (10 is the maximum score).

The FinnoScore analysis covered 234 commercial banks in 24 countries in Europe and North America.

According to a press release from Horvath Romania, the banks in the FinnoScore analysis were evaluated in terms of their level of digitisation, according to more than 300 criteria, divided into 12 categories, including: Website, online sales, multi-channel communication, mobile app and internet banking functionality, online marketing, social media presence, innovation and sustainability, price transparency, loyalty programmes, ways to attract new customers or the degree of implementation of a complete (end-to-end) online onboarding process, whereby customers can create and use an online-only bank account, etc.

Among Romanian banks, BCR ranks first, with a score of 6.81, mainly due to the George mobile app, the increased attractiveness for new customers, but also to the good online banking and onboarding score. It is followed by Banca Transilvania (6.15), which obtained a maximum score for attractiveness for new customers, well above any other bank in Romania.

On third place there is OTP Bank (6.09), which scored very well in the area of online onboarding and online banking. The next places are occupied by: (4) CEC Bank (5.96); (5) ING Bank (5.25); (6) Raiffeisen Bank (4.77); (7) BRD (4.76); (8) Unicredit Bank (4.38); (9) Libra Internet Bank (4.13); and (10) Alpha Bank (4.00).

"All these banks are also among the top 10 banks in Romania in terms of assets, except for Libra Internet Bank," the press release said.
