The Corporate Treasurers are starting their own Association
Established earlier this year, The Romanian Treasurers Association (ATR) is a non-profit professional organization, created to support the professional interests of its members regarding the exercise of professions related to the fields of corporate treasury, corporate finance, and financial and capital markets.
The association was founded by a group of thirteen founding members, as formalization of an active dialogue group since July 2013, with monthly meetings and activities of debating topics of interest to members, involving a total of approximately 100 professionals (CFO, treasurer, other specialists in corporate finance or capital markets) that work in large Romanian corporations or multinationals in various industries, including banks.
The founding members of the association are Razvan-Valeriu Horobeanu (initiator of the first informal meetings in the summer of 2013), Calin Alexandru-Vu?ca, Frangulea Stefan Alexandru Liviu Tofan, Florin, Oana Mache, Marin-Valentin Popescu, Alexandru Rafa, Marius- George Ionescu, Mihaela Oana Doroftei, Elena-Luminita Bonteanu, Oana Monica Stan, Viorel Gheorghe Eduard Negutu and Vlad Gheorghe.
The main objectives of the Association are to help create a mature and competitive financial markets, promote cooperation and exchange of ideas among its members and to promote the profession of corporate treasurer and corporate finance and enhance its prestige and recognition.
Membership of the Association of Treasurers in Romania can be acquired on the recommendation of a member of the Association and of the Board of Directors approval of any natural or legal person, Romanian or foreign, whom interests or activities are related to the areas of corporate treasury, corporate finance, financial and capital markets that is committed to promoting and supporting the activities of the Association, accepts its status and pays the annual membership fee.
The Association aims to become a dialogue partner of all institutions participating in the financial and capital markets, academia and public authorities, and to represent the common interests of the community of specialists in corporate treasury, corporate finance, financial and capital markets. The Association is able to make legislative proposals to the authorities in order to improve the legal framework of activity in the financial and capital markets.
In order to celebrate two years of activity of the initiative group of the Association and to mark the formal launch of the Association as a legal entity, the Board of Directors of the Association of Treasurers of Romania organizes an Anniversary Meeting on July 16, 2015 in the event hall of the Sky Tower building, 34'th floor, at 18:30.
