GROUPE ATLANTIC opens its first factory in Romania, in Prahova county 60 million euros invested, 370 jobs by 2026
GROUPE ATLANTIC, one of the leaders in the HVAC (Heating – Ventilation – Air Conditioning) industry, will open a factory in Romania, in the PWP Bucharest North industrial park, Prahova county. With 31 industrial sites and 43 commercial locations, the group is already present on 5 continents and is expanding its presence in our country.
The new site will receive an investment of 60 million euros, money used to ensure the best working conditions, with 100% new equipment and machinery.
With a total area of 145,000 m², of which 31,000 m² is occupied by buildings, the new factory will produce 2 types of products: electrical water heaters and hot water cylinders for domestic use, under several of the GROUPE ATLANTIC’s brands. The production should start in the last quarter of 2024. By 2026, the team working at the location will reach 370 employees.
“GROUPE ATLANTIC has decided to establish the factory in Romania to support our existing factories and serve customers in Central Europe in this market segment, stimulated by the transition to heat pumps. We chose this location because it allows us to combine proximity to our customers, competitiveness, and our expertise,” stated Arnaud CODRON, the industrial director.
The first employees have already started working at the factory, preparing the ground for the arrival of the first machinery in mid-2024, with production scheduled to begin at the end of the same year.
“We have initiated operations at our new unit in Romania to develop, produce, and deliver eco-efficient, high-quality, and affordable domestic hot water cylinders,” adds Tomasz JUDA, the factory manager.
The French-origin GROUPE ATLANTIC is involved in the transition to a low carbon level in construction (the construction sector represents 1/3 of total greenhouse gas emissions) by enhancing the energy efficiency of its solutions and systems, promoting efficiency in their use, and improving its industrial and logistical processes.
With over 13,000 employees and a global net turnover of 3.2 billion euros, GROUPE ATLANTIC enhances thermal comfort to better meet the essential needs of well-being, health, and hygiene for millions of customers in the residential and tertiary sectors through solutions and systems for water and air heating and cooling.
