The German producer of luxury household appliances Miele estimates a turnover of 35 million lei for this year in Romania with 15% more than last year, stated for News.ro Loredana Butnaru, manager Miele Romania who stated that the plan for medium term includes the opening of two-three shops under the concept Point.

‘For 2018 we estimate a turnover of 35 million lei with 15% more than in 2017. Practically, this means doubling the business between 2015 – 2018. The most important investment are those in development at the level of the whole country and the plan for medium term includes the opening of two-three shops under the concept Point. We aim at cities where we are not present yet, but we don’t exclude the possibility to inaugurate a second shop in a city where are active  already’ stated for News.ro Loredana Butnaru, manager Miele Romania

She states that there will be created new work places on this occasion.

The representative of the company mentions that vacuum cleaners are the most acquired Miele products with 6,500 units sold in 2017.

‘There follow washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and ovens. Moreover, by comparison to other years we  saw the interest of our clients for espresso coffee machines and coffee Miele brand that we launched last year. An important growth was registered for accessories, consumables, washing powder and cleaning agents for laundry and dishes’ she added.

This year the company will continue to extend the business at national level so that there is in the plan the inauguration of at least one new Miele showroom in the country.

‘Similarly we will extend the range of products in our portfolio and during the first part of the year we will bring to Romania the new generation of vacuum cleaners: sackless, Blizzard, and the second generation of robot-vacuum cleaner RX2.Similarly, the whole range of hoods will be changed until mid-year’ Loredana Butnaru said.

Asked how often the Romanians change their household appliances, she says that over the last years the Romanians have started to give their vote of trust on the basis of quality  and less on price reasons.

Speaking about the results of last year, she said that 2017 was a complex year, with big fluctuations on the economic level, but it also brought an increase of the consumption as a general trait.

Miele sells its products on the local market in online shops such as eMAG as well as on the offline ones. Moreover, the German producer has in Romania a factor of parts in Brasov which was opened in 2009 where they produce electronic parts and other parts of  smart household appliances.
