Ambassador Hamid Moayyer: Iran wants intense economic collaboration with Romania
Iran wants an intense economic collaboration with Romania, offering in this respect, “the availability of the business environment and important amounts of money”, said Hamid Moayyer, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Romania, during the meeting he had on Tuesday, with officials, representatives of the university, cultural and business environment in Bacau, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The diplomat presented data about the “extraordinary economic development of Iran”, laying stress at the same time, on the huge absorption potential of productions of any kind, which can be ensured by his country, through the 80 million inhabitants and the rest of 400 million people who live around the Iranian state.
In context, ambassador Hamid Moayyer pointed out that in his country “there are over 1,000 professionals (in the nuclear energy, medical and industrial fields)” reminding at the same time that the huge resources of oil and gas, the rapid progress in medicine, IT, petrochemistry, nano and microtechnology, about multiplying the network of railroad, naval and road transports.
“Unfortunately, until a few months ago, the Iranian and Romanian states did not have in view the development of relations with private business in Romania. Now we have possibilities and if anyone, even in the public sector, wants to develop in our country they are welcome. We have money, but we have not had collaboration so far. We have over 200 billion dollars from the Iranian state for development in the oil and gas field alone,” the Iranian official said.
The diplomat reminded that “there is full opening for Iranian investments in Romania, financed by the Iranian state or private companies from Iran,”and also the fact that businessmen and representatives of the academic environment in Iran praised the relations they had with Romania, which unfortunately stopped in the last ten years, especially because of economic sanctions imposed by the international community.
“They asked us to restart the engines of these fruitful collaboration relations. I am in Bacau upon the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to identify such collaboration possibilities. We expect proposals, but we are interested in investing in the petrochemical industry. For a few months we have been asking for the initiation of contracts to restart RAFO refinery in Onesti, as well as other similar industrial platforms where production has stopped, but Romanian officials did not show any sign of interest. I repeat: there is money to resume activities, all we need is interest from the Romanian party. We received order from by superiors to facilitate such contracts with the state or private economic field in Romania,” the Iran ambassador pointed out.
