Andrei Baciu: 8.3 million doses will enter in Romania in April and May

Andrei Baciu, the secretary of state in the Health Ministry declared on Tuesday that over 8.3 million anti Covid vaccine doses will arrive in Romania in April and May.

He said Romania would receive vaccines produced by Johnson and Johnson.

“In April and May we speak about two important months, as premier Florin Citu declared, we will have over 8.3 million doses entering Romania, which could be used for over 5,000,000 persons vaccinated at the end of May, representing about 35% of the adult population, which could create benefits to keep the pandemic under control”, Baciu said.

According to him, Romania is 4th at European level for vaccination with the second anti-Covid vaccine and 15th at world level.

He added that until April 6th, 5,121,129 doses were received, of which 3,359,006 were administered, which represent 66% of the doses received. “We have a stock of 1,410,796 doses for April 6, 3,710,333 being distributed. 5,669 lost doses were recorded by April 4, representing 0.17% of all used doses”, Baciu said.
