Crisis in the Republic of Moldova: the judges in the Constitutional Court resigned in corpore

The judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova (CCM) resigned in corpora on Wednesday, the cession of mandates and the vacation of the positions will be announced to the authorities which will have to nominate new judges, according to Deschide.md..

According to a press release issued by the institution, judge Veaceslav Zaporojan was abilitated by the plenary of the Constitutional Court to exercise the administrative attributions of the chairman of the Court until the election of a new chairman.

According to the law, Zaporojan will notify the authorities (the parliament, the government and the Superior Council of the Magistrates) within at most three days since the date of the vacation of the position, and require the nomination of a new judge.

The three institutions will have 15 days at their disposal to nominate other judges.

One week ago, the former chairman of the CCM Mihai Poalelungi resigned from the position of judge and chairman of the Constitutional Court.
