Development minister: Building regulations will be simplified
Cseke Attila, the development, public works and administration minister, announced on Tuesday that there are 589 legal provisions in the construction field, of which the oldest dates since 1970, and that regulations in that sector would be simplified.
“Regulations do not correspond to present realities and need amendments. I identified 44 norms that must be amended with priority. For that we set up a work group meant to elaborate a set of more simple and more efficient provisions in the building field, and to update them permanently,”Cseke Attila said.
There are 589 legal provisions in the field, the oldest one dating since 1970.
“Regulations in the field must be correlated with international ones in use in the European Union,”said the minister, adding that the norm about fire safety must be reviewed both for buildings in the field of education (creches, kindergartens and schools) and in other domains, because it has not been updated for many years.
At the same time, provisions about the energy efficiency of buildings, adopted a decade ago, must be updated in order to be able to erect green buildings, passive in point of environment protection.
