DNA required the arrest in absence of the businessman Elan Schwartzenberg
The National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors required the preventive arrest of the businessman Elan Schwartzenberg in the file in which Radu Mazare was indicted, the tribunal going to take a decision on 9 June, as he was accused of receiving 175,000 euro from Avraham Morgenstern – representative of the company which built the social houses campus Henri Coanda – to help him get the bid and to increase, later, the value of the contract.
The DNA request will be decided on 9 June at the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
According to judicial sources, the businessman Elan Schwartzenberg is the one who connected Avraham Morgenstern to ‘ capable people’ to ensure the getting of the bid for Henri Coanda and, at the same time, the one who took the money from the accounts and placed it in the accounts of brothers Mazare and others. The same sources say that through a company controlled by Elan Schwartenberg 95,000 euro were placed in an off-shore account of Radu Mazare and 40,000 euro in an account of Alexandru Mazare. The two sums would represent a part of the money given by Avraham Morgenstern to ensure the getting of the bid.
