EBRD reviews prognosis for economic growth for Romania in 2016: from 4% to 4.8%

EBRD has reviewed prognosis for Romania’s economic growth for 2016 from 3.5% to 3.7% in 2017.

South eastern Europe on the overall is in economic growth. Greece is recovering thanks to a good tourist season, while confidence in business is going up. Serbia and Romania will take up the average economic growth of the area, the EBRD prognosis shows.

According to it, Russia and Greece are going out of recession, even if both economies dropped by half in the first part of the year. At the same time Turkey will grow slower in 2016 and Ukraine and Moldova are in the red zone again. Ukraine returned to growth in the first half of 2016, after a 16% contraction in the two previous years. Moldova’s modest growth is backed only by domestic consumption, according to EBRD.
