ForMin Aurescu arrived în Chisinau with a medical team and healthcare equipment
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, will travel on Thursday to Chisinau (photo), after the President and the Government of Romania announced they are granting aid to the Republic of Moldova, in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, with a medical team and healthcare equipment and drugs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs.
The team of doctors will work in hospitals in the Republic of Moldova involved in treating patients infected with the novel coronavirus.
On the occasion of the visit, the minister will also have a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Tulea, and will be received by Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu. Furthermore, he will have a series of meetings with representatives of the political milieu of the Republic of Moldova.
According to MAE, Aurescu will emphasize, on the occasion of his visit, "the necessity for the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to consequently continue the reforms essential for the democratic development of the country and the advancement of the European path, Romania continuing to seek with priority for the legitimate interests and expectations of citizens be observed."
The minister will reconfirm, at the same time, the firm commitment of Romania to support an "irreversible European path of the Republic of Moldova, on the basis of the bilateral Strategic Partnership for the European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, which saw, on April 27, 2020, the 10th anniversary of its signing, this path being the only one able to ensure the economic and social development of the Republic of Moldova in the direct benefit of its citizens."
