GfK Study: Although the economy increased considerably in 2015 the economic perspectives of the Romanians dropped
The economic perspectivesof the Romanian consumers dropped in December 2015 and the income of the Romanians cover only in some measure the daily necessities, although the Romanian economy increased considerably last year according to a GfK study.
‘Although the Romanian economy increased considerably last year, the economic perspectives of the Romanian consumers dropped in December 2015 at the value of 10.6 points. A year before, the indicator was at 17.7 points’ a GfK study regarding the consumption climate in Europe for Q4 of 2015 says.
The decreasing economic perspectives had a negative influence on the expectations of the consumers regarding income, the indicator dropped against the previous quarter by 6.4points, reaching 14.9 points and thus getting to the value of the previous year.
‘The income of the Romanians cover only in some measure the daily necessities. Thus, the inclination to consumption did not modify against the Q4. It dropped in December by other 1.2 points, getting to the value of -7.6 points’ the GfK study says.
In Europe, the crisis of the refugees, the attacks in Paris, but especially the economic indicators which have improved in almost all countries, as well as the costs for electricity which are extremely low were the factors which influenced the discussions of the consumers and those in the mass-media in Q4.
The consumption climate for the EU increased starting with September to December 2015 by 1.9 points at the value of 12.2 points.
The results of the GfK study ‘ The Consumption Climate in Europe relies on a survey of the consumers made at the request of the European Commission in all European Union countries. Almost 40,000 people are interviewed monthly in 28 countries. These people are representative for the adult population of the EU.
