Half of Romanian business leaders are part of Millennials generation
Almost half (49 percent) of Romanian business leaders are part of Millennials generation, meaning those born between 1981-1995, while 43 percent are part of X generation (those born between 1965-1980), according to a study of MKOR Consulting, business-review.eu reads.
The age of leaders is strongly connected with career experience: 45 percent have an experience between 11-20 years, 28 percent under 10 years and 27 percent over 21 years of experience.
The majority (61 percent) of the leaders believe their work is their vocation and for 32 percent the work represents the career they want to follow. Only 7 percent believe they have a random job.
The main values of the business leaders in Romania are the freedom to do what they like, the financial independence and a balanced family life. The respondents said that a leader should be empowering, able to decide, to have strategic thinking, to be opened to changes, to have energy, to be enthusiast and ambitious.
Regarding their features, Romanian leaders believe they are correct and loyal persons (98 percent), with wide vision (96 percent), that they are tenacious and ambitious (96 percent, respectively 95 percent).
Almost a half of the respondents consider that a successful leader should improve continuously, an advice that they follow: 92 percent frequently read books and articles about personal and professional development, 79 percent attend annually training programs and 73 percent attend business conferences.
The main challenge in their opinion is the HR management, that 82 percent of the respondents have, followed by economic environment instability, fiscal and legal instability (22 percent).
The qualitative study was developed in July, on a sample of 639 leaders: 345 entrepreneurs and 294 managers in business environment and NGO.
