Leu appreciated Wednesday against major currencies

The national currency appreciated on Wednesday against the euro which was calculated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) at 5.0633 lei, dropping by 0.50 bani (-0.09%) against the previous quotation 5.0683 lei.

The leu also gained ground against the US dollar, which was quoted at 4.3173 lei, down by 5.15 bani (-1.17%) compared to Tuesday, when it stood at 4.3688 lei.

The national currency also appreciated against the Swiss franc, calculated by the NBR at 5.3791 lei, down by 0.84 bani (-0.15%) from 5.3875 lei, the previous quotation.

The gram of gold fell to 467.1788 lei, from 470.0966 lei in the previous session.
