Over 100 companies at Romanian-Greek Business Forum at CCIB
The Bucharest Chamber of Trade and Industry (CCIB), the Office for Economic and Commercial Business at the Greek Embassy in Romania and the Bilateral Greek-Romanian Chamber of Trade organized the Forum “Romanian-Greek Business Partnership”, on the occasion of the visit in Romania of two Greek economic missions, one organized by the Serres Chamber of Trade and Industry and North Events company including companies from other areas of the country.
At the official session of the event, opened and moderated by university professor Sorin Dimitriu, the president of Bucharest Chamber, was attended by Mr. Aristotelis Xenakis, the new plenipotentiary minister for economic and commercial business at the Greek Embassy in Romania, Mr. Christos Meglas, the president of the Serres Chamber of Trade and Industries and Mr Ioannis Alfieris, general secretary of the Greek-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Trade.
29 businessmen representing 24 Greek companies from agriculture and food industry (traditional products from Kefalonia in Crete, fresh fruit and vegetables, sweets, bakery products, sauces, dairy products, vinegar, specialities, beer and other beverages), tourism, cosmetic products and food supplements, water filters, as well as 80 Romanian businessmen interested in developing businesses with Greek partners.
On that occasion, the president of Bucharest Chamber pointed out that this year the Balkans remain a priority region and expressed his confidence that the CCIB project for the opening of a representative office in Athens was achievable. As for the fields of interest Sorin Dimitriu pointed out the industrial sector and research.
The CCIB president and the president of CCI Serres signed a Memorandum according to which the two chambers will carry out a joint program of events devoted to better know the two business communities and will promote commercial exchanges and bilateral economic cooperation.
Mr. Christos Meglas, the president of CCI Serres, showed he wanted a long term collaboration with CCIB and invited Romanian partners to include in the agenda an economic mission in Serres, a region which concentrated 10% of Greek’s farming industry, with developed infrastructure and tourist potential.
In the second part of the event, the guests presented their activity and had dialogues with representatives of Romanian companies who answered the CCIB invitation at B2B session.
