Presidential adviser: Romania will be in 2016 on the stage of economic growth in the EU due to consumption
Romania will be in 2016 on the stage of economic growth in the European Union probably the first in the top with a growth rhythm of over 4% as there is a consistent advance of consumption stated on Tuesday Cosmin Marinescu presidential adviser in the Department of Economic and Social Policies in a conference of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR).
‘It is to soon to speak about the changing of the model of economic growth, from economic growth based on exports as it was until now, as it was in 2013 to economic growth based on consumption as things will be in 2016. An economy developed relies on a good system of the chambers of commerce. A business environment well placed around these and around the employers’ associations is a strong business environment. Global economy does not lack certain risks, certain tensions. The global economic growth prognoses were revised downwards to 3.2% for 2016 and 3.5% for 2017. A large part of this growth comes from the emerging economies which are sensitive to financial uncertainties and structural adjustments. The European economy still suffer in its entrepreneurial dimension and investment dimension’ Cosmin Marinescu said.
CCIR organised the meeting of the National Committee ICCRomania which reunites the elite of the business environment in our country, companies and organisations from all domains of economic activity.
‘In order to be sustainable, the growth of consumption must rely on the growth of production, Romania needs not to be satisfied with this quantitative part of economic growth. We have to pay attention to the structural adjustments which bring improvement of productivity and healthy economic growth. The economic performances rely on the institutional quality where the companies develop their activity. Not only taxes are important. What matters is the burden of bureaucracy, the rule of law. I think that CCIR through its proactive policies can lead to a larger opening to the foreign markets to benefit from the competitive advantages which Romanian economy could have’ Cosmin Marinescu said.
The National Committee ICCRomania activates in the CCIR framework starting with 2001 and reunites the elite of the business environment in our country, companies and organisations in all domains of economic activity.
‘The business environment in Romania needs business supportand economic diplomacy. We need to get out of EU boundaries from the point of view of foreign trade. 70% of our export is to the EU and 5% to the other European countries. Only 15% of the exports go to the rest of the globe’ said the CCIR chairman Mihai Daraban.
According to him, the Chamber of International Commerce (ICC) is the only organisation of business at international level which has direct access to the UN,to OECD, to the World Trade Organisation, to IMF.
