Romania amending corporate governance of state-owned enterprises
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that the government is amending Romania's legislation on the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises and thus entirely fulfilling an essential milestone in the country's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
"We are repealing all exceptions and applying these corporate rules to state-owned enterprises in the defence industry, as well as in the case of RA-APPS," the prime minister said at the beginning of a government meeting.
Letter a) in Article 1 (6) regulating the exemption of the RA-APPS corporation managing state-owned real estate from Government Emergency Ordinance 109/2011 will be repealed.
At the same time, the requirement regarding the additional security check for the selection of the members of the boards of directors in the field of the national defence and security industry should also apply to the selection of the members of the board of directors of state-owned enterprises dealing with the administration of state-owned property and real estate provided by RA-APPS that also entails requirements in the field of national safety and security.
