Romanian businessmen interested in investing in US, invited to participate in SelectUSA summit

US Ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm on Wednesday sent a message to the Romanian businessmen interested to invest in the US, inviting them to participate in the SelectUSA summit, which will take place June 20-22, in Washington DC.

The message was sent by Hans Klemm during a reception dedicated to the SelectUSA summit organized on Wednesday at the US Ambassador's residence. "SelectUSA is the United States Government's main initiative in attracting foreign businessmen communities, which might be interested in investing in the US," stated Hans Klemm. At the event, the potential Romanian businessmen can find more information about the opportunities existing on the US market, he specified.

Hans Klemm reminded what President Trump said, in January, in his speech delivered at the World Economic Forum in Davos, that "America is open for business."

In attendance at the reception, the Minister for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Radu Oprea, voiced his hope that many companies in Romania will participate in SelectUSA.

"In both investments and trade it's better to always have balance and I hail the organization of the SelectUSA summit. I very much hope that the Romanian companies will come to this event and understand the opportunity that the US and the US market represent. This is the most competitive market. If we can have access to the United States, then we will definitely be successful anywhere else in the world and I believe that this is the place where, indeed, the companies operating in the IT field, in the new technologies field could get very much involved," said Radu Oprea.

Participating in the reception were potential investors in the US market, representatives of the business milieu, officials of the Romanian Government and US Embassy in charge with investments.

SelectUSA is addressed to those who want to invest in the USA, from multinationals to small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups. In 2017, the summit gathered 3,000 participants, including investors from 64 markets.
