Russia delays negotiations with Romania about Tarom flight to China

Negotiations with Russia about the overflight permits for Tarom flights Bucharest-Beijing, programmed for mid November were delayed by Russian authorities for January, said Ioan Rus, the minister of transports.

“We had talks with Russian authorities scheduled for November 15, but they delayed them for next year. Negotiations will be made, upon their request, in January. Overflight permits used to be granted very rapidly, but now it is no longer simple. We made all legal steps,’the transport minister explained at a press conference.

Granting overflight permits has become a problem following the Ukraine conflict which generated tensions between Russia and western countries.The minister mentioned that the memorandum for resuming flights had been signed by the Romanian and Chinese parties.

Tarom renounced the air line Bucharest-Beijing in 2003 for economic reasons.
