Study: Over 60% of the young Romanians want to change the economic situation in Romania
Over half of the young people in the urban environment (64%) aged between 18-29 are preoccupied by the economic situation of Romania, according to the study made by the Exact Cercetare si Consultanta. Asked which could be the issues they would deal with if they became a world leader 50% of the young people mentioned terrorism and global warming& pollution and 98% consider that progress is not about consuming more but consuming better. At the same time, 88% ofthem consider that the society would be a better one if the people would be more concentrated on sharing things with the others and not owning them.
The highest percentage among the young people is met in the case of using crowdfunding services (28%) car sharing being mentioned by 18% while apartment sharing and ride sharing in a percentage of only 13% and 11% respectively as business concepts in the making.
‘ Considering themselves as informed and with permanent access to the world around them and the world as a whole, the present young people feel the need to be different. According to the qualitative studies we made, they choose to use brands which offer them aspiring experiences and new ways of expression for their personality. They want to define brands and to be part of their DNA’ says Lacramioara Loghin, the coordinator of the study.
If in the West Twitter and Instagram are the most used social platforms, in Romania Facebook is the most popular among young people. The young people abroad are more careful when it comes to the content which they share on the social network, due to the fact that their parents or other relatives own an account on Facebook.
A number of 9 out of 10 young people use Facebook daily. For WhatsApp 5 out of 10 young people opt daily while for Instagram 2 out of 10. Twitter is not on the list of preferences of the young people of Romania less then one in 10 being active daily on Twitter.
The quantitative study was made in November 2015 the universe of the search being represented by people aged between 18 and 59, urban inhabitants and internet users.
