The Republic of Moldova: significant growth of the number of those who support union with Romania( survey)
In favour of the union of the Republic of Moldova with Romania would vote 34% of the Moldavians shows a survey presented on Wednesday by the Centre for sociological research, quoted by Radio Kishinev.
However, according to the survey for the union candidates to presidential elections of the Republic of Moldova which will take place on 30 October would vote only 4% of the interviewees.
According to the manager of the Centre of Sociological Research Sergiu Raetchi 12% of the interviewees agree to support the union of the Republic of Moldova to Romania, 22% consider this thing is good from the economic point of view, 17% would not be against, 18% consider that the Republic of Moldova would have nothing to gain as a result of the union, and 31% are against.
According to the survey, for the integration of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union vote 51% of the interviewees, and for the integration in the Customs Union – 43%. For accession of Moldova to NATO would vote 42% and 35% of the interviewees could not answer.
Radio Kishinev mentions that, according to the latest Barometre of Public Opinion made at the command of the Institute for Public Policies in May 2016, at a possible referendum for the union of the Republic of Moldova to Romania in favour of the union would be 17% of the interviewees , against the union – 66% and 17% had no opinion.
