TRENDS IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE PERIOD DECEMBER 2015 – FEBRUARY 2016

  • Stability of the activity in manufacturing and retail trade

  • Decrease tendency of the activity and of the number of employees in construction ? Moderate decrease of prices in retail trade

 Managers estimate that the processing industry and the retail will see a period of stability over December 2015 - February 2016, while the construction field is expecting a decrease in activity and number of employees, according to a circumstantial research published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 

So, the processing industry managers forecast for the following months a relative stability of the output (-5pct). The most significant drops of the output will record in the activity of manufacturing other goods from nonmetal minerals and in metallurgical industry (-34pct, and -33pct, respectively). 
For the industrial products' prices a relative stability is forecast in the short term (0pct). Referring to the number of employees, a relative stability is estimated, too, the short term being -2pct on whole processing industry. 

In constructions, according to estimates made in December 2015, a decrease of the output will be recorded (-38pct) and of the contracts and orders' stock (-33pct). Managers also estimate a drop in the number of the employees (-23pct). 
As regards the prices of the construction works, they are forecast relatively stable (-4pct). 

As for the retail, the interviewed managers estimated a trend of relative stability of the economic activity (-1pct). The employers foresee for the next months a moderate growth of the number of employees (+7pct). The volume of orders addressed to the goods suppliers by the commercial units will record a moderate decrease (-7pct). 
For the next period, the companies' managers estimate a mild drop of the retail prices (-8pct). 

At the same time, the demand of services (output) will know a temperate increase (+6pct). In services' sector a relative stability of the number of employees is expected (0pct). According to managers, the selling or invoice prices of services will have a trend of relative stability (+2pct).



More
