Decrease tendency of the activity and of the number of employees in construction ? Decrease of prices in retail trade
Company managers forecast that the manufacturing industry and the services sector will experience a trend of relative stability in the upcoming period, while the constructions and retail sectors will experience a decrease in activity, a survey by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on trends in economic activity between January - March, 2016 informs.
According to the survey, published on Thursday as part of the January 2016 short-term survey, managers in the manufacturing industry forecast for the upcoming three months a relative stability of production volume (short-term balance +1pct). The activity of manufacturing of coke products and of refined petroleum products will experience a tendency of accentuated growth (short-term balance +57pct), while tobacco production will decrease (short-term balance -40%).
The prices of industry products are forecasted to remain stable in the upcoming three months (short-term balance -3pct). The number of employees is also forecasted to remain stable, with a short-term balance of -3pct overall in the manufacturing industry.
According to January 2016 estimates, in the period under survey, construction activities will experience a decrease of production (short-term balance -24pct) and of the stock of contracts and orders (short-term balance -21pct). Managers estimate a moderate decrease in the number of employees (short-term balance -15pct). In regards to prices of construction works, managers estimate a moderate decrease (short-term balance -6pct).
In the retail sector, managers estimated for the upcoming three months a trend of moderate decrease in economic activity (short-term balance -11pct). Employers forecast a relative stability in the number of employees (short-term balance +1pct). The volume of orders to the suppliers of goods by commercial entities will register a moderate decrease (short-term balance -15pct).
For the upcoming period, managers of companies estimate a decrease in retail prices (short-term balance -16pct).
According to January 2016 estimates, in the upcoming three months, demand of services (turnover) will record a relative stability (short-term balance 0pct). According to forecasts, the number of employees in the services sector will experience a relative stability (short-term balance +1pct).
According to managers, selling of invoice prices of provisions will register a trend of relative stability (short-term balance -3pct).
