Stability of prices in industry, construction and services
The National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Tuesday the results of the June business tendency survey: managers of the manufacturing industry expect a moderate growth of industry, trade and services; stable prices in industry, construction and services; and a small increase of the number of employees in construction and services.
Manufacturing managers forecast a moderate growth of the production volume (+13 per cent balance), with higher figures in the manufacturing of beverages (+52pct) and of other non-metallic mineral products (+46pct) and weaker results in the tobacco industry (-36pct). Industrial prices are expected to grow (+2pct), as is the number of employees (+5pct overall in the manufacturing industry).
In construction, the survey shows expectations of a 26pct growth of production volume, a 10pct increase of the number of employees, and stable prices (+5pct).
In retail, business should grow by 10pct, with oders up 7pct, and 13pct less employees; prices forecasts are up 8pct.
Managers expect the demand for services to advance by 12pct, the number of employees in services up by 9pct, and prices virtually unchanged (+1pct).
Estimations of company managers are not equivalent to the economic growth pace or to actual evolutions of statistical indicators, the INS pointed out.
