Construction and trade activity will register an advance in the next three months, as well as prices in these sectors, while the number of employees in industry and services will show relative stability, according to the tendencies that Romanian managers anticipate for March - May 2019.
According to the survey conducted by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) in March 2019, managers in the processing industry expect a moderate increase in production volume (short-term balance +15pct) over the next three months. Among the activities that will register growth, beverage production will have the highest growth trend (short-term balance +40pct), followed by tobacco products (short-term balance +36pct).
As to the number of employees, relative stability is estimated, with a short-term balance of + 2pct per total processing industry. For industrial products, moderate growth is estimated for the next three months (short-term balance +13pct).
Also, in the construction activity, according to the estimates in March 2019, an increase in production volume (short-term balance +28pct) will be recorded for the next three months.
In the retail sector, managers estimated a growth trend in the economic activity (short-term balance +18pct) for the next three months. For the next period, the managers of commercial companies forecast that retail prices will rise (short-term balance +29pct).
According to the INS data, the demand for services (turnover) will grow moderately over the next three months (short-term balance +10pct). In the services sector, relative stability in the number of employees is estimated (short-term balance +5pct).
