Turk business people, interested by investments in Romania

Mr. dr.ing..Costica T.Mustata, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest (CCIB) had a meeting with Semih Beken, honorary counsel of Romania to Antalya and Mr. Mehmet Dinler, honorary counsel of Romania in Nevshehir and Kaysen, provinces situated in Central Anatolya where there is also the touristic area Cappadocia.The meeting with the Turk guests, when in Romania on the occasion of the International Tourism Fair Bucharest, took place with the representatives of the ministry of economy, energy and business environment (MEEMA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR).

The CCIB chairman spoke about the six cooperation agreements signed with the chambers of commerce in Turkey, mentioning the organization of the Romanian-Turkish business forum in the domain of agricultural machines and equipment which took place one day before the visit of the two honorary counsels.

They spoke about the economic potential of the provinces Antalya, Nevshehir and Kayseri, the common thing being tourism, sends the Press Office of CCIB.

Background information

The Republic of Turkey is the main commercial partner of Romania among the states outside the European Union (EU). For export, Turkey represents the main market for goods sent from Romania in the extra-community area, and for import the second market of origin of the goods coming into our country from the space outside the EU (after China). The total volume of Romanian-Turkish exchanges in 2019 ( available data) was 6.8 billion  USD out of which 2.5 billion USD export and 4.3 billion USD import.

On 31 December 2019 in Romania there were registered 15,832 companies with Turkish capital, representing 7% of the total of companies with foreign capital in our country (third place, after Italy and Germany) with a social subscribed capital worth 812 million USD which places Turkey 16th among the countries which invest in our country
