Trade: Report: Almost half of Romanians have ordered online at least once, in the last month
Almost half of the Romanians (49.7%) had between one and three orders online over the last 30 days, and four out of ten clients (40.9%) allocated between 301 and 1,000 lei for acquisition, says a report on the e-commerce market in Romania, published on Wednesday.
According to the data centralised by easySales, 43.4% of the interviewees had orders from the laptop or from the desktop, 62.1% chose the majority of the orders from online shops which trade physical objects, while 74.1% consider the price as the most important element for online purchases.
Similarly, over half of the total of the people interviewed (50.3%) prefer delivery at home by courier, 65.2% prefer to pay by card, 58.4% get information about the products and services for purchases from the social media and 47.7%consider the complete documentation of the product as the most important detail.
At the same time, 50.6% are relatively satisfied with the orders from the Romanian sites and order as much as they have the opportunity although 45.4% have ordered mostly from abroad, from the Temu platform.
The specialised report also reveals the fact that more than a third (34.7%) of Romanians focuse on low prices when ordering from eCommerce platforms outside the country, while 34.3% order occasionally (two-three times a year) from Temu, Shein, Amazon or eBay.
At the same time, 41.5% believe that the experience of orders from abroad was beyond expectations and, as a result, they will make international orders again, 36.4% bought home products from stores abroad and 34.7% think that, in general, the shipping time is the aspect of an online order which does not satisfy the most.
According to the quoted source, almost half of the respondents (48.7%) expect to be able to return an order within 30 days of placing it, and 40.1% rely on the idea that the money for the returned product will be returned within five working days.
On a general level, 49.7% of buyers made between one and three online orders in the last month, while 40.9% allocated a budget between 301 and 1,000 lei for purchases.
The information presented in the study carried out by easySales was collected between June 21 and July 82024, from 1,043 respondents, using the CAWI - Computer Assisted Web Interviewing method, with a margin of error of approximately +/- 3%.
