Romania has the 11th production of wind energy and the 8th production of solar energy in Europe

Romania’s production of electricity on wind energy is 7.4 terawatts per hour, the 11th in Europe,  on a par with that of Ireland, the data of 2017 of the British Petroleum  company say.

As compared to 2016,the production of wind energy of 2017 was higher with 0.8 terawatt/hour and compared to 2015 it was 0.3 terawatt higher. The main difference is that between the production recorded in 2017 and that of 2010 when the production of wind energy was only 0.3 terawatt/hour.

The capacity of the Romanian grid to take over the wind energy is very limited of only 3,038 megawatts, the 13th in Europe.

As regards photovoltaic solar energy,in 2017 Romania had a production of 1.9 terawatt/hour,the 8th of Europe. As compared to 2016,  the production was higher with 0.1 terawatt/hour but compared to 2015 the production was lower with 0.1 terawatt/hour.

In this case,  the capacity of the Romanian grid to take over the energy is very limited,at only 1,378 megawatts. The capacity is only two megawatts higher than in 2016 and 52 megawatts higher than in 2015.
