Romanian crude oil imports up 78.6 pct in four months
Romania imported more than 2.12 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe) in the four months of 2014, by 932,600 toe (78.6 pct) less than over last Jan-April, show figures centralised by the National Institute for Statistics.
The Romanian crude oil production totalled 1.302 million toe in the four months of this year, by 0.5 per cent (7,100 toe) less than in the same period last year.
Romania retained as No. 10 among the European and Eurasian oil producers last year, with 87,000 barrels per day, which accounts for 0.1 percent of the world output, resulting an increase of 4 per cent against the 2012 figure, according to a British Petroleum study.
The Romanian oil consumption shrank 1.7 percent in 2013 from the previous year to 188,000 barrels per day (0.2 percent of the world consumption).
According to BP figures, Romania's proved oil reserves total 600 million barrels, compared with 1 billion barrels in end-1993.
