Eurostat: In 2017, Romania had EU’s largest decline in number of residence permits granted to non-EU citizens

The latest Eurostat data on the number of valid residence permits issued by EU member states to non-EU citizens shows that Romania recorded the biggest decline in 2017 compared to the previous year. The total number of residence permits granted by the Romanian government to non-EU citizens in 2017 was 54,045, compared to 62,882 in 2016.
