Agroland Business System inaugurates the Feed Factory in Isalnita
Agroland Business System (BVB: AG), a Romanian entrepreneurial group in retail, agriculture, and food, which owns the largest network of agricultural stores in Romania, announces the inauguration of the Feed Factory in Isalnita, Dolj county, an investment with a total value of 20 million lei.
“The Isalnita Feed Factory is one of our most important investments in recent years, playing a key role in our integrated business model. Thus, the cereals used are sourced from the partner farmers of Agroland Agribusiness. At the same time, the factory’s production will be able to ensure the amount of feed for our farms and contribute to the stock of feed sold in the Agroland store network. Just as we acquired the Mihailesti poultry platform during the pandemic, this time, in a challenging economic context, we decided to invest in an asset that will significantly improve our profit margins at the Agroland group level. This is also supported by the fact that the Isalnita Factory is one of Romania’s most modern and energy-efficient production units, managing to automate all processes. This aspect allows the use of a small number of operators,” stated Horia Cardos, founder and CEO of Agroland Business System.
The factory’s annual production capacity in Isalnita is 28,000 tonnes, covering approximately 60% of the feed requirements of the farms and stores in the Agroland network. The factory will produce non-pelleted, shredded, and pelleted feed, sold in bulk, big bags, or sacks.
The Isalnita factory is the second feed production unit owned by Agroland Business System, after the Combined Feed Factory in Caransebes, inaugurated at the end of 2022, with an annual production capacity of 7,000 tonnes. This brings the total yearly feed production capacity in the two plants to 35,000 tonnes, representing approximately 75% of the total feed required in a year for the Agroland Group’s food and retail divisions.
Agroland Business System is listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of March 1, 2021. The company is traded under the symbol AG, having a market capitalization of approximately 108 million lei.
