AKTOR : We continue to work relentlessly in Romania
Recent communication with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania confirms the trust and the strong spirit of cooperation between the two parties
The strong spirit of cooperation and the common will upon all strategic issues were re-confirmed during the recent communication between Mr. Christos Panagiotopoulos, Executive Chairman of AKTOR, and Mr. C?t?lin Drul?, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania.
The conference call, which took place yesterday, between the representatives of the leading international infrastructure company and the Romanian Government respectively, verified the strategic partnership and the importance of all key projects running in the country whilst, it was underlined that all timeframes will be kept as scheduled.
From AKTOR’s side there was a commitment that the Sebes-Turda will be delivered within summer, whilst the construction of Lot 3 of Bucharest’s Belt should start by end of May. Moreover, it was mentioned that works continue relentlessly in Ilteu station and the tunnels for Gurasada project, whilst in the Brassov region two major projects are in the pipeline: the “Brasov – Sighisoara” railway line, which is making progress, and the LOT2, for which the company is in the stage of ordering 4 TBM equipment. It is noted that the company recently delivered the project of the Baia Mare-Sighetu Marmatiei.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos highlighted to Minister Drul? the importance that Romania has for AKTOR and reassured that he personally will overview the progress of the projects. Finally, it was agreed that the two sides would continue to communicate on a regular basis, so as to safeguard the unimpeded resumption of the significant construction projects that run throughout the country.
